somthing similar to IPCONFIG /ALL

By TechKid ·
Is there a command for OS X that will show similar stats as
IPCONFIG /ALL does for Windows? Such as, ip address, gateway, all
the dns servers, the dhcp server...

try ifconfig -h
( as admin )
that will tell you both if you have ifconfig, and what the options are for it.

you could also check the cotrol for the network connections in the gui, and see all the data that ifconfig shows, but while in the gui.
( if I can do that in linux, then the beos based macosx should have it )

Open network preferences (where you go to enter your settings for network, apple talk, wireless, etc. and you should see everything you are looking for there.

From the command line you can try netstat, but that's rather
messy, too.

The GUI tool would be "Network Utility", usually installed in the
"Utilities" folder in the "Applications" folder.

That should be 'netstat -r'.

Sorry for the premature articulation
