sonicwall and vpn

i am trying to vpn into a w2k server that has a sonicwall firewall attached. on a win 98 machine the vpn will attach and i can work on it without the sonicwall dropping that connection. unser xp pro and w2k pro; the sonicwall will drop at random times and will reattach when i disconnect the vpn. anyone have this problem or suggest a solution?
