Sonja has only 1 thumbs up from last Christmas
Lockedby cg it · about 15 years, 2 months ago
so for the New Year, Sonja needs another “Thumbs Up” for all her work on TROL.
So Sonja, the question to answer to get another Thumbs Up is:
What’s the best format for submitting videos for TROL.
for a Second “Thumbs Up” what content do you want in videos for TROL?
As you know, you’ll have to post twice to get two thumbs up …

She scared me with the cookie story.
I like horror movies and am hard to scare, so she gets a Thumbs Up from me on that one.

Can tell us how to find out who posted a Thumb to a question when it no longer appears on the current page. 😀
That is one I would like to know. Hell even if it is on the current page it’s not possible to find as there is no Date Stamp of when the Thumb was awarded.

let her know her thumbs are waiting.
Did this last year which is how she got her first thumb but then I gave out a lot of thumbs at Christmas and though Tammy never really said anything, I think I was on the pooper list for doing it.

Oooo! Oooo! I know those answers!

Of course, I would gladly answer them without the coveted thumbs, but… since you’re offering. 😉
1. The best format for submitting videos is .mov files. I am able to convert .wmv and .avi files to .mov, but sometimes the quality suffers in the process.
2. Video content is completely open, as long as it’s not inappropriate. I loved the video of your backyard… and Jellimonsta’s helmet cam was a lot of fun to watch too.
Now that we’ve gone widescreen, it’s best to have a fairly large video capture screen (480 x 272-ish). As far as the actual file size, I believe e-mail only allows 12MB. Does this information qualify for a third thumb? 😉

Perhaps Tammy can take 2 Thumbs from my HAL account
by oh smeg · about 15 years, 2 months ago

And give them to Sonja. 😀
I was however going to wait till she returned from Holidays before asking. I’m sure that she has better things to do than post on TR. :0
You know things like lying in the pool sipping some very strong Alcoholic Beverages in an attempt to try to recover from the past year. :^0

That makes perfect sense! Should I copy and paste my previous answers in here as well? Or maybe I should just reiterate – SEND VIDEO CLIPS TO TROL @ CNET.COM! Any .mov or .avi file under 12 MB should work. 😉

Sonja would forgo all thumbs to get a much-deserved raise or bonus instead!
😉I suspect CBS was as stingy with ‘adjustments’ this year as most other companies.
Come to think of it…. too bad we can’t turn our thumbs in for cash. …wouldn’t that be somethin’!
Then CG IT could retire in style.

Only the Americans where harping on about Coffee Mugs
by oh smeg · about 15 years, 2 months ago
In reply to Swag .back then we were always harping for coffee Mugs
As they where not being sent OS something about a Breach of Trademark with the weak excuse that they wouldn’t survive the Trip. :^0
So we poorpers had to settle for T Shirts. I did suggest to Jay to pack the Mug by ramming a T Shirt inside it but he wouldn’t play. 🙁I personally can see no reason to return to Tech Points as I said I thought they where fairly useless but I did Like Maxwell’s explanation of them when you have a Nasty Problem and want a Quick Answer you can always award 100,000 Tech Points to encourage Answers. 😀

I think it was Smorty or Trivia Geek that sent me a mug. I mentioned it and lo and behold, it showed up.
I like the polo shirts with the TR logo on the sleeve. I’ve been pulled aside and asked advice at some of the computer stores I’ve been in as they see the TR logo and know about TR. Weird .. but…
I like the thumbs but they are getting to be like points were. You can give good suggestions and not get a thumbs up, you just get a thumb nose.

And was asked about myself by one of the people from Corel there. Well I was asked did I know HAL and I just said he’s silly and not worth listening to.
I was jumped on from great heights about deriding this guy who that person thought was Very Helpful so after he finished I just introduced myself and asked how I could be of Help. 😀
Seems that some here take more notice of the Avatar than the actual person and form some kind of fiendship with them though they never actually say a single word to them. Only time I’ve ever been hauled over the coals for speaking about myself though. :^0

… when I was much younger. …getting tickets when playing SkeeBall at the Arcade.
I’d save ’em up for months, spending an untold number of quarters and ultimately cashing ’em in on some chincy prize that would break within a week or for a tacky stuffed animal that some girl wanted.
Naw… it’s much easier getting swag these days. But dollars are always welcome.
