I have a problem with my dvd writer and i nee a solution from you . i had purchased a sony dvd writer model DW G120A . I am opereting on windows xp service pack 2 . my system configuration is – amd athlon 3000+, 512 mb ddr ram, asus k8v mx motherboard, segate 160 gb barracuda harddisk,
here my problem starts: whenever i want to copy or install any item form my dvd writer sometimes my operating system gets corrupted. and it becomes too slow like i feel i am operating on a p1 precessor. not only the slowness, there was some deffects i will discuss pointwise to understand better.
1. when we switch on the pc the startup bar whic normally moves 2-5 times changes to 15-30 times.
2. when we logon or logoff the music which palys is very bad. it plays with scratches.
3. no programm runs at normal fast. everything runs too slow.
4. even songs and movies from harddisk won’t play normally . they play with great disturbance.
5. but when songs and movies play from the dvd drive they play normally .
6. when i try to write a dvd [when the problem starts] of 4.5 gb, which normally takes up to 7 minutes at 8x speed , it takes around 45 minutes.
8. copieng of files from cd to hdd or one drive to anther takes too much time than what they normally take .
9. previously i had no solution but to format/upgrade my system. here i fees there doesnt’t have any hardware problems, rather only the operatin system gets corrupted adn it can be cured by formattig the system or upgrading the operating system with the same verson or later .
i don’t know what part corrupts in my operating system but beleve there must be a cure theis.
[recently i hered from a hardware friend that the dvd writers which manufactruraed in their second phase(lowering theri investment and make cheap for all availability) there arose some deffects and notonly my dvd but they also found some other dvds with the same complants.]
But there must be a solution .

i also runs on windows 2000 professional . But it won’t get defected but there i found the dvd drive has some defects. nothing plays well we can view video well but sound plays with small jump in every 2seconds.
any ideas about this . share them with me
