Sony problem

By TABComputers2002 ·
I played a CD on my computer that contained the Sony Copyright protection. Now I can't get it off my system. Pest Patrol was the only one to pick it up. When i let the system clean, I was told to reboot and run again. When I rebooted, I Blue Screened. I was able to restore to a previous point, but of course the extra bagage came back.

Any ideas??
Thanks
Tim

Check out http://cp.sonybmg.com/xcp/english/updates.html

Or if you've had enough of Sony, I understand Microsoft will shortly be updating its anti-spyware tool to remove this cr-p.

In any case, good luck! (As an MBA with an interest in marketing, I just can't believe what Sony did. "It'd be sad if it weren't so funny/it'd be funny if it weren't so sad!")

I update my M$ antispy, I detected and "removed" the problem. But when I double checked the system with Pestpatrol, everything was still there. Pestpatrol then cleaned most of the problem, I'll have to manually remove the rest of the Reg entries.

Thanks
Tim

We went the way of answering the questionaire on Sony's site and receiving the instructions on how to remove. Yes, there were a couple of issues which were fixed when we ran an in place repair of Windows XP. It may not be the answer you want, but its all that there is at the moment.

Good luck!
