Sony trojan problem

By TABComputers2002 ·
I played a CD on my computer that contained the Sony Copyright protection. Now I can't get it off my system. Pest Patrol was the only one to pick it up. When i let the system clean, I was told to reboot and run again. When I rebooted, I Blue Screened. I was able to restore to a previous point, but of course the extra bagage came back.

Any ideas??
Thanks
Tim

Try running Pest Patrol from Safe Mode. If it finds anything, delete (not quarantine).

If you navigate to http://www.sysinternals.com/blog/2005/11/sony-you-dont-reeeeaaaally-want-to_09.html
you can read how someone else uninstalled the software. I can't vouch for its accuracy, since Sony seems to keep hiding the uninstaller.

Great info, but it even says that the solution is worse than the fix.

Not an option... There are at least 3 computers in the company that are infected. The good news is that our Firewall isn't letting anything out

You don't need computer help. You need to hire an attorney.
