Sony Vaio - disabling trackpad
I have an old Vaio PCG270 laptop but have installed Windows XP on it. The sony utilities to control the trackpad do not work with Win XP.
Please could you tell me how to disable the trackpad whenever a mouse is plugged into the computer (I use a serial mouse since the single USB port is used for my broadband connection)?
Also, if the mouse is plugged in on boot-up, then the mouse cursor goes haywire and moves all over the place opening various items by itself. The only way this doesn't happen is if the mouse is plugged in once windows has already started but then the wheel on the mouse doesn't work. Is there anyway to correct this and to get the wheel working?
Thanking you in advance for your help.
Regards,
