i have a metrobook vl, i lost the admin pass code and had to format the hard drive and reload the os. i did this before realizing that i no longer have the original drivers disk. short of taking the notebook apart how do i find out what sound card ihave>? i think it’s the last driver i need. better yet if you know where i can find the drivers for that particular notebook i would be very appreciative…

Try this link, it is at driverguide.com
      the login ID is “drivers”
      the password is “all”

      http://www2.driverguide.com/uploads/uploads8/8208.html

This file is for the metrobook LT, but the individual providing this file indicates he has others, and is contactable by e-mail

      Good luck….

You may find the sound card listed in device manager, under the system icon
Trying the manufacturers web site may tell you what sound card is in the model you have, and the driver listed
      Other sites to try are
      http://www.windrivers.com
      http://www.drivershq.com

ok, thanks for the help, all answers were excellent! i have been able to get the sound card working, but, it has a combo card, i believe it is an oem card, there is no manufacture listed only this (S620 Audio/Fax Modem Board) i checked the chip sets and i have an ESS audio drive ES1869S (i have a driver and it is working fine) the modem chipset is a Rockwell RCVDL56ACF/SVD R6761-27, i have down loaded several drivers for that chip set, rockwell and Jayton flash installers etc.etc..etc…i can even find this device on my system, am i missing something in bios where i have o manually configure the ports? or is it because of it being a combo card that i need a manufactures installation softwear.
