Have a problem with sound on my PC. It was working one day and dead the next.
Device manager sees my on-board card. Sounds in control panel sees it. Volume is high and not muted, but no sound.
Installed new card. Drivers installed ok but no sound.
Formatted hard-drive and installed XP Pro with SP2 but still no sound on both Sound blster and on-boad card.
Booted PC with an Ubuntu linux cd. Sound is not working here either.
he sound blaster card works and i tried with two different sets of speakers which worked before.
