Sound Stutter

By Imat156 ·
I just reformatted and have run into and old problem of mine: The sound stutter. When I first built my machine I ran into the same problem and found the solution, unfortunately the solution I found does not appear to exist anymore. I simply had to update my Sata RAID controllers to fix the issue and that was that, but I can't find them anymore and Intel doesn't appear to host them anymore.

Specs:
OS: XP Pro
MoBo: Foxconn G43MX-K
Intel G43 North
Intel ICH10 South
Chipset up to date
Sound: Onboard AC'97, up to date
GFX: ATI Radeon 4850 HD up to date
DX9C up to date
PCI: PATA 133
HDDs: 1x SAMSUNG HD103UJ SATA
1x Maxtor 7Y250P0 SCSI Disk Device
2x WDC WD32 00JB-00kFA0 SCSI Disk Device
Other Drives:
ATAPI CD-R/W 48X12 SCSI CdRom Device

Many will see the SATA drive and wonder if it's the culprit, but the original problem occurred long before I got that drive. The problem I'm running into now is that Intel doesn't seem to have any RAID controllers for the ICH10 chipset, and that means I can't fix it the original way. I'm currently updating to Service Pack 3, hoping that will get the needed updates. In case that doesn't work, any suggestions?

SAMSUNG HD103UJ SCSI Disk Device?

Why differentiate on a single HDD?

I've got four different SATA HDDs but they're all listed as SCSI.

SAMSUNG is only SATA

by Imat156 In reply to Why 'SAMSUNG HD103UJ SATA ...

The Samsung is the only SATA drive, and it was labeled as such by the computer (I added the SATA ending). I don't think not having the SCSI label is causing the issue...Could be wrong.
