I just reformatted and have run into and old problem of mine: The sound stutter. When I first built my machine I ran into the same problem and found the solution, unfortunately the solution I found does not appear to exist anymore. I simply had to update my Sata RAID controllers to fix the issue and that was that, but I can’t find them anymore and Intel doesn’t appear to host them anymore.

Many will see the SATA drive and wonder if it’s the culprit, but the original problem occurred long before I got that drive. The problem I’m running into now is that Intel doesn’t seem to have any RAID controllers for the ICH10 chipset, and that means I can’t fix it the original way. I’m currently updating to Service Pack 3, hoping that will get the needed updates. In case that doesn’t work, any suggestions?
