So, I have a MB SOLTEK SL-75KAV with sound on board, identified as VIA Technologies VT82C686_5.
No matter how I try to configure it in Windows 95, it still gives me an error in “PCI Multimedia Audio Device”.
Meanwhile, it fortunately works (usual Windows sounds and also with my son’s various games).
It’s not the same situation in Linux (BestLinux 2000)where it doesn’t work at all…
Please note, as a hint, edventually, that if I install Windows 2000 the soundblaster works smooth, nice and easy, with no errors at all (In fact, this is what kills me, since otherwise I would have considered it as a manufacturing defect and contacted the reseller)
