I recently downloaded Spinner and the nextday had NO SOUND at all. Checked email
sounds, window sounds, control panel/sounds and multimedia, name it. At about this time I noticed RealPlayer was no longer on my PC.
How it got deleted is a mystery. Deleted
Spinner and reinstalled RealPlayer and Spinner. Still no luck. The PC is 6 mos old
and it is possible that a sound card went out-but how was RealPlyer deleted without affecting something else. Can I check a sound card out someway? Thanks.

Is this Win98, 2000, if win98 Lets get your sound back first. First try right clicking on your volume control in the systray, then open volume controls. Make sure all the volumes are up high enough to hear, also make sure the volumes are not muted. You can also check the options from this area at the top right, then properties. You should see some device mixer there. You can also right click on the volume in the systry again check the Audio Properties. You should then see Playback & Recording Audio Properties. If you had a Sound Blaster Live you would see SB Live wave out, and SB Live wave in. Right click on "My Computer" then properties then device manager. Look for the "Sound Video and Game Controllers" Make sure there are no RED X's or Exclamation Points either. I hope this helps

Yes that is your sound divice, sounds like it is intergrated into your system board.
Because you say everything sems ok, is it possible that the speaker cable it in the wrong connector, or maybe the speakers have gone bad or just not working right. If all these things are ok you might have to return it.

Try even just using windows media player. If you right click on the my computer Icon and go to properties, under device manager is there any yellow marks (splats)? If so try reloading your sound card drivers or just deleting them and try to reinstall them. If you also go to the control panel then look under add/remove programs is real player still there . . . spinner could of overwritten the default settings of using real player. If you right click on the speaker in the right hand corner you can adjust your volume settings. . also you might want to make sure your speakers are ok too. . . it could of gotten unplugged. Or maybe your sound card needs to be reseated. Open the case and see if it is seated ok . .unless it is onboard sound whichin that case I would check with the motherboard manufacture.

Thanks for the help. DID NOT WORK BUT IT DID BRING UP A QUESTION. Went to Device Manager and under "Sound, video and game
controllers" I had listed "SoundMax INTEGRATED Digital Audio" and under properties "device working properly".
Is this device the sound card?
