The Q&A forum here at TR is a peer to peer support forum for assorted computer issues.
To contact the TR staff about a problem with the web-site, click on the "Help" button near the upper right of most TR pages. Follow the links, and you eventually come to a contact TR page.
In general, there are intermittent problems with some downloads. Your best option for the error you received is to come back in a few days and try the download again.
I paid $39.95 to call Netscape concerning this matter. After much conversations and them trying to figure out the problem, they said that it was due to a firewall, such as Zone Alarmand the Lynksys wireless service firewall. I told them that my Internet Explorer did not have this problem and that I was able to download the same various programs.
This is a little confusing, you're trying to download a file from another computer you control? OR from the internet? OR someone is trying to get a file from your computer and receiving this message?
What I'd try in any case: make sure the file actually exists, a typo is not the problem, and that permissions on the file permit it to be read by whomever you need it read by (everyone?).
Also, make sure a good connection exists between server and client(ping).
If that doesn't help, please provide more information.
Well, there can be a couple of issues with downloads at TR.
I use either Firefox or Mozilla web browsers. (The core code of Netscape starting with version 6 is Mozilla.) And have no problems.
The applet that runs the downloads at TR at one time required having JAVA installed and running. It also uses a pop-up Window, and you need to make sure to turn off any pop-up blockers when attempting to download files from TR.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
