SP for Windows 2000 in cluster

By FCH ·
If I have installed the cluster services in Windows 2000 which the procedure should be, with smaller interruption to the users, to install the SP?

SP for Windows 2000 in cluster

Ack!

Depends on how your cluster is setup, and what services it's providing.

Easiest answer? Come in on a Saturday night, after 11:30, and apply the pack to each machine one at a time. That's about the only way to not interrupt users.

The other way, although less desirable, is to do the install on each machine, but not reboot when your done. Then when you have 5 minutes of free time, reboot the servers. I've used this before, and the only problem I had was that I didn't tell everyone on the Server Team that I did it. One of the guys saw the OK button and pressed it. Then the server rebooted.

Ok,
My question essentially is if I should reinstall the cluster services. My cluster is active / passive. I have SQL 7.0 Enterprise also working in these servants in cluster.
