Have cleaned this desktop of malware but when trying to install SP3, I get the following error: “The file c:\windows\system32\drivers\atapi.sys is open or in use by another application. Close all other applications and then click retry”. Neither Daemon Tools nor Alcohol 120% is installed and I see no evidence of a virtual drive. Unlocker says that there is no locking handle on atapi.sys. If I use UBCD4Win to change the name of atapi.sys the computer gives a BSOD at boot. I have flashed the BIOS and updated the chipset, video, network and modem drivers. Any ideas?
