Spam is just something that will be around for years and years. But you can build filters within MS Outlook, if that's the client you're using. To do so, select "Tools" and then "Rules Wizard". From there, just follow the wizard. As for the popups, there are many utilities out there. The one that I prefer is PopUpStopper. It can be purchased at a minimal cost from www.popupstopper.com.

I have installed --SpyBot S&amp 1.1--; and --Ad Blocker Pro--. My problem (same as yours !!) has "gone". At least I have it under control and it does not bother me anymore in my daily PC activities. Good luck

Until it becomes outlawed (Unlikely) SPAM is something to ignore. In September of 2001, only 8% of e-mail was SPAM. Today it is nearly 40%. They continually improve on methods to get you your daily dose of SPAM.
The most important thing to remberis to NEVER open a SPAM e-mail (delete it), or you will really be flooded. Check with your ISP, they may offer SPAM filtering, many are doing so now. You can either have them block all SPAM or have them mark it SPAM and you can set up a rule to move it to a SPAM folder where you can verify that it is truly SPAM before deleting.
If your ISP doesn't offer this feature then you will have to set up filter yourself. Either through Outlook or one of hundreds of programs out there.
Spammers are causing a huge loss of productivity and something should be done, but probably won't anytime soon.
Good Luck
