Spam, i’m sick of it, but what can i do?

For the past few weeks, I’ve been getting email from all sorts of people that are receiving unsolicited pornographic Spam mail. They want it stopped, and so do I. But what can I do?

Most of these are sent to legit addresses, some aren’t, but there is a legit address somewhere in the header and it gets to destination anyways.

Now I may be off the ball here, but I’m really starting to hate those people who think they can send us any type of garbage they want.

Why can’t we work of a more secure way of sending mail? A system that does not allow you to cheat. A system that does not allow you to pretend you are someone else. A system that does not allow you to send garbage anonymously.

If someone sends me an envelopeto my house, and it blows up my mailbox or my front door, I call the cops and they track down the guy who did it. Why should it be any different for an email loaded with a virus?

If I don’t want to receive unsolicited mails in my mailbox, I callthe post office, and they stop. Why can’t we do that with emails?

My discussion is this: What can we do to make these changes become reality? That type of “innovation” would make me by that type of mail server (wink wink MS!). What can we do to make this a reality? Can this become reality?

I fear that if we don’t do something soon, no email, no matter where or from whom it came from will be trusted. When that happens, having email will be more hazardous than practical, and it will disappear.
