Kindly, let me know about the classes that allow me to make use of special characters(i.e special symbols which we used in our high school Algebra and Geometry)

I'm not sure which application your refering to, but in Word you can go to Insert>Object and choose Microsoft Equation

since java uses unicode as character coding system, you can use any character, that exists, simply by providing the unicode number of the char. e.g. char c = '\u03A3' is the character for sum in high school math. \u is the prefix for unicode and the rest (4 hex numbers) is the unicode number of the char. you should have installed appropriate fonts of course (almost no chance to show them in dos :), but in the GUI there is no problem). to see the char numbers, go to http://www.unicode.org/charts/ and choose the chapter, where your characters should be (greek for math).
