Specific Access Macro

By jim ·
Howdy all. I would like to ask if someone might help me out with a simple task. I say it is simple because i know the answer has been staring me in the face over and over but i cant see it. So here goes.

In a Microsoft Access data entry form I have been asked to add a field which would run a calculation of items entered so that it may be seen while entering data. I have done so by running a query that sums the data entries, but only gives back the calculation if i requery or close and open the form, either of which takes me back to the default first record.
Can i build a macro that will requery, then bring me right back to the record that I am entering data in before i requery for the calculation.

OR is there a smarter way to carry out this task altogether? (I pondered whether i should ask that last question or not, because there is always a smarter way to do something. Here's to hoping you can tell me how.)
