speeddisk-problems in win2000

i installed-for the first time-windows 2000(fat 32) plus norton system works. i am a pc-recyler-knowing how to install pcs. i deactivated autoprotection(antivirus)and cleansweep-monitoring. when i try speeddisk it says, there is no ntfs-partition pls run chkdsk /f. when trying this it says a program is running. i do not know which one. i ran norton one button checkup and then went to speedisk when the problems started. i can run it ignoring the messages, but i have the feeling that the program is interrupted before doing the complete work. maybe i err.
