speeding up network browsing...

Has anyone found a way to take all of the 'fancy fixin's' off of the new version of explorer to allow it to browse through the network shares faster? I know how fast our LAN is. (and mine at home also) but anytime you browse network shares in explorer, it takes an eternity to go 4 or 5 folders deep. Any one found a way to speed this up?
Thanks,

Dont know waht you are using but I dont have such a problem (with 75 computers).
Use IP not net beui.
Use only cat 5 cables.
Use a hub that is 100mbps speed not the cheaper ones.
If you are running the wires on your own make sure you use either 568a or b, dont use any other coding.

just in case you're wondering, we're using TIA-EIA 568b. we design networks here, our network is fast, always has been, always will be, the problem is not with the network, it's with the machine. exploring network shares take way too long.
