    SPOOL32 Error

    Locked

    by khunter ·

I have a workstation with AOL 5.0 installed. Since the install of AOL, I am constantly receiving SPOOL32 errors. I have gone thru the Microsoft Document for troubleshooting printer errors but none of their solutions seem to work. Any Ideas?

1 Do you have a fax or answering machine running in the background? If so, disable it.

      2. Make sure you have the latest driver for your printer.

      3. Spool32.exe may be corrupt. Copy one in from another machine. (You can’t do it when Windows is running-have to go to DOS mode).

      4. Here’s a site devoted to SPOOL32 errors!

By the way, when you say “Microsoft Document”, do you mean the Knowledge Base article on SPOOL32 errors? If not, here it is:

Since you mention AOL 5.0 I will point out that ver 5.0 tends to trash your network settings, and if your Printing to a network printer that’s likely the culprit. You’ll need to reinstall your Network client, and correct all of the network settings that got yanked by AOL 5.0’s heavy handed installer.

AOL 5 replaces your network card with its own. This can cause many network problems. I would uninstall AOL and delete your network card. Make sure that you have the drivers on a local disk. Re-install network card. You can read e-mail for AOL without having AOL install. Just go to there web site. You also might look at AOL web site for info on printer spool errors.
