I have odd problem with the spoolersv.exe service. I have a laptop running Windows XP Pro and from time to time the user can not print. While the problem is occurring, if you try to right-click for the properties of any printer (2 installed both are shared printers on a domain that are connected to physical PC’s) I get an error that the spooler service is not running but it is! If I restart the service same problem. Once I reboot the problem goes away. To temporarily fix the issue I can stop the service using computer management. Then start the service by using ‘net start spooler’ and the printer works?
Any suggestions?
