I've been using Spybot S& happily for years -- running it manually about once a month -- and I didn't know it had a real-time scanner. Do you mean its "Teatimer" protection against changes to the registry (which I don't use) or its "Immunize" passive host-protection feature (which has to be run manually)? I wouldn't call those "real time" (unlike Avast AV, which is very "real time" protective).
