Spying On My Daughters PC Usage Via Home Lan

By DriverSearch ·
I have a unique problem child...and a unique need to be "Spying On My Daughters PC Usage Via Home Lan".

I am the Home Office Network Admin. / Technician here. I want to see what she is doing while I am not in the same room with her, and take over the control, (If needed), and see exactly what she is working on that we ( All 4 of Us) keep getting hacked or attacked by viruses that I catch and clean later.

I would like to see everything..desktop, IE7, MSN, Yahoo, etc, etc, etc...Everything, every single mouse move or click! Is that possible without software to be installaed???

Remove her from the network ...

Then you and whoever the other 2 are, can't catch anything can you?

But doing what you are suggesting without any installed software is dubious to say the least.

Yes. It's possible

Spying on your daughter is possible without having to install any software, plugins or whatsoever on her pc.

So you want to see what she is doing on her screen without you being in the same room. Now, there are like 3 possibilities :

- when you are in the room right next to her, just drill a hole in the wall through which you can spy
- you can bribe her boyfriend or so
- you can install a camcorder in her room, which tapes everything

Ah, but that doesn't allow the ability of taking control

of the computer....

For that you would need the cloak of invisibilty

questions questions

by PurpleSkys In reply to Why no software?

...if you're worried about the amount of viruses that you are always having to tend to, it leads me to ask...are there any type of p2p programs installed on this pc? Is anyone else in the house d/ling songs, movies, etc? It may not necessarily be something she's doing, as it could be something someone else is doing...and honestly...net nanny...good software...

edit: opps, put this in the wrong "spot" should be under the actual question, not Shell's response...

Install VNC and run it in service mode

Then just hide the task icon, she would never know you were watching her. You can just fire up the viewer on another computer and watch. If you need to take control, you can.

I do it all the time to my parents, so I know it works perfectly.

Far easier to lock it down

And while your child might chafe at the somewhat draconian level of control, at least she won't feel like you've put a webcam in the toilet to check on her bowel movements....
