SQL 7.0 logging (SQL.log) – how to disab

    Locked

    by chris.harrison ·

SQL 7.0 server seems to maintain a text logfile called SQL.log which records
details of T-SQL statements. Is it possible to enable/disable
recording to this logfile, and the degree of detail of recorded info.?

Also, is the logfile location configurable? If so, how?

We have a runaway SQL.log file growing in size, and cannot see
how to control growth, other than stopping the SQLServerAgent service.

      Chris,
I wasn’t able to find the answer to your item about maintaining the size of the log.

Here’s how you change the location/name of the log file. Go to the Management item on SQL’s Enterprise manager, expand it and then right click on the SQL Server Agent, select Properties. In the bottom of the properties, General Tab, you will find a location for the error log. Change it accordingly.
      Good luck,
      Joe Cepeda
