SQL / Access 2K ADP Problems

    Locked

    by Anonymous ·

I have been running multiple databases on SQL2K (sp2) for 2 yrs, with Access2K adp’s used as the client. (OS Server2K, SP2)

We have recently installed another SQL server in our domain, which has SP3 installed for both OS AND SQL. immediately after (accidentally)installing Gatway (and client) services for Netware within the network connection applet,on the new SQL server, our Access ADP’s have started behaving strangely.

When enetering a new record, the Uniqiue ID was returned to the Access ADP form. This now no longer happens. I have removed Gateway services for Netware from offending machine, and rebooted All domain servers and network switch, but still no joy. have also tried MDAC2.6 SP1, and MDAC 2.7, but still nothing.

    VB6 Applications all work fine!

    please help

Try uninstalling the Netware Gateway and Client. If the server runs ok without them, then they, or possibly the settings, are incorrect for the Gateway and Client. If you need the Gateway and Client for applications, then check the vendor for a new patch. Post a followup to let us know how things went.

        Hi,

I removed the gateway services for Netware as soon as I noticed the behaviour change. all servers and switch have been rebooted. Have repatched OS SP3 onto nwe server, and applied SP3 to existing server. have repatched SP3 to clients, and applied Office SP2 to client.
