It seems we’re having difficulties backing up open files on a Pervasive SQL database.
Both Pervasive and Microsoft admit this to be a problem. But we are a 24 hour operation who cannot simply backup the server when it’s not in use – because it’salways in use.
Both Pervasive and Microsoft state that you can set the backup to ‘continuous’ so that the instant any file is closed, it is backed up. However this meathod causes increased bandwidth/slowdown issues that we’d like to avoid.
Isthere any way around using the continuous backup mode? Is there perhaps a third-party app that will accomplish this?
(I don’t need a list of backup softwares that simply ‘backup open files’, I need one that you know for a fact will backup open Pervasive or Microsoft SQL database files).
