I am doing development work for a company who runs their business off of a UNIX server with a program called KERMIT by Datatrac Incorporated.
We also have a shared hosting plan with SQL Server 2000 installed.
Datatrac offers an ODBC driver toallow us to extract information from the UNIX program into our SQL Server. However, since we are using a web host, we can not install a 3rd party ODBC driver on their server.
My question is, is there a way to make an ODBC connection without installing the driver on the web server?
I do realize that the best solution would be a dedicated hosting plan, however, the company I work for is not currently willing to spend that kind of money.
Any assistance that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
