Before my question I think I should give detailed scenario of our network.
We have firewall and behind the firewall there are two networks, DMZ and the internal. Webserver and proxy reside on DMZ, SQL7.0 along with DC, mail file server are on internal network. Our website connects to SQL server through the proxy and the internal clients use intranet application, which also connects to SQL.
Last week we have upgraded the SQL7.0 to SQL 2000 server installed on Windows Server 2003. Now the Intranet application cannot connect to database using named pipes, but if we use TCP/IP to connect to database internally then the proxy cannot listen to the port 1433 and the website lose connection to the database.
What do I need to do in order to establish both internal and external connection to database
Hope I was clear enough on my explanation..
