SQL Server 7.0 Server Stopped...

By jbowen ·
A few nights ago my server stopped and would not start. After exhausting my limited resources I decided to reinstall the software. I had the base backed up but I am now finding it hard to get the backup data into a new data base. Can this be done orhave I lost three months of sleepless nights entering data for not? Please send help.
Thanks in advance for your time and concideration.
John

SQL Server 7.0 Server Stopped...

by daya_hs In reply to SQL Server 7.0 Server St ...

You have not specified which operating system is being used by you. well i'll give the solution
1. If you have win 98/95 os you need to do the following steps.

a. Open the server manager
start-->programs-->sqlserver7.0-->server manager.
a small pop up window will open which includes 3 kind of services. sqlserver, sqlserveragent and MSDTC. try to run all the services if it is stopped. check the option of running services at startup of machine. you can easily identify it is running or not. run the services and close the window. server manager will be situated in tray icon then onwards. open query analyser and start working on asusual.

2. if you're os is winnt/2000 you need to go to control panel. open services make it run all the 3 services which is needed for sql server.

if your services is not enabled. then right click on desktop taskbar, click on properties, check the administrative tools option, close it. Then click on start, programs, administrative tools, services do the things which i have mentioned earlier.

I think this will solve your problem.
If you have any problem regarding your pc, os, databases you can contact me directly.
