SQL Server Personal Edition

By debdeal ·
We have set up SQL Personal Edition and IIS on a - Toshiba 4600 Laptop using Win2000 Professional as our system platform.

We imported all SQL settings and data from our live system.

When we login to the SLQ database on the laptop we receive the following error message: Operation is not allowed when the object is open.

Is there any reason that we should not be able to use all of the above applications as described?

Does anyone have knowledge of the above stated error message and howto reslove this issue?

Thanks for your assistance.

SQL Server Personal Edition

Chech for DataBase consistency. Specially the masterDB. Could have some problems. I've had problems like these that were caused primarilly by Database corruption and/or the DB being in an unstable state.

Run a DB Consistency check. However...

Or maybe there were some problems when importing the data from your previous system.

Check that all Databases are Ok and that there are no errors in the error log. You could find-out from there what's "bothering it".

Is the problem only when connecting to a particular DB? Or to any? try changing the user's default DB.

Here's something you might try:

Add the user attempting to log in as a member of the primary group.

Good luck,

Maxwell
