squid configuration regarding running outlook express

I am using (Red Hat Linux 4 ES – Squid), i want to send and receive mails from outlook (windows), i can able to browse but i am not able to send are receive mails, how to enable the pop3 and smtp? are anyother setting to be done in outlook?
