SSH with PuTTY - How Do I Print Reports to Local Printer?

By JessiRight77 ·
We have a Unix-based database that is running on a server using AIX. Workstations at other external facilities that are NOT on our internal network run Windows and need secure access to our database. We have installed the PuTTY client on the workstations in the external facilities, and they now have no problem accessing our database using the SSH connection. HOWEVER, they cannot print reports from the database to their local printers.

Can anyone advise me on how to make this work?

Thanks for any help possible.

printing from putty

by rsemig In reply to SSH with PuTTY - How Do I ...

I have just read this and noticed that it was written last dec. Have you found a solution yet?

In any event, here is one problem I have encountered with putty. If I try to print to a printer where I cannot set the CR after LF setting, putty will print blank pages except for the header. However, graphic forms will print just fine, text pages will experience what i descibed above. Is this similar to your experience? What did you do to solve it?

It is aggrevating as I have alot of HP Printers I cannot use because HP has taken the CR setting out of its setup menu.
