Stand Alone HDTV Tuner

What Stand alone HDTV tuners are best for using with the HD ready tv's the industry sold us last week. I don't want to fund cable or satalite company execs. retirement any more! I just want to pull the signal right out of the air and remain off grid. Since the Govt. is discontinueing non HD signals what add on tuner is bests and where to get it? All help and opinions greatly opreciated. Maybe Tech Republic would like to do an article and comparison of products offered?

HD ready TVs

TVs that are sold as HD READY should be able to tune the signals that are broadcast by the stations, OVER THE AIR. You should be able to use the regular outside antennas that are and have been available for decades. If you live close enough to the stations transmitters, you could even use the old rabbit ear antennas. The HD signals are presently being transmitted by the stations along with the old analog signals. The cutoff dates wil allow the stations to stop transmitting the old analog signals and the old non HD sets will go blank.
