Start up Auto Run Program

By jimweasel ·
Is there a way to have XP's "Restore" automatically make a new "restore point" each and every time the system is cold-booted?
Maybe with a "batch file?
Could the process be hidden?

The quick answer to your question is "yes", WMI scripting will work.
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/plan/faqsrwxp.mspx
has a link to a document with examples of auto-restore scripting. It will take some digging and someone better with dcripts then me to sort this out for you. Sorry.

Set IRP = getobject("winmgmts:\\.\root\default:Systemrestore")
MYRP = IRP.createrestorepoint ("My Restore Point", 0, 100)

Copy and paste this into a file, rename said file to InstantRestore
Add to your startup group
