Start Up Default Page

By wayneinreno ·
How can I change the page that comes up every time I boot up? I went into the content advisor, and put in the page I want but, it is not recognizing this entry for some reason. It keeps going to a msft. downloads page.Totally ignoring the content advisor request. The page has 5.5 in real big numbers, and instructions on the "new" browser by IE. Any ideas?

Do you mean the first page that comes up when you start internet explorer or when you start your puter and it is the default desktop?
If it is your web browser opening page, right click your internet explorer icon and choose properties. once there,on the first tab marked general, the first entry is homepage. This will define which page loads first when you open up IE. go to the website you would like to be your starting page and enter its URL in the space there and from then on, you will start at the new page.
Good luck!

Mike

I did that, but it did not work. I still have the same problem, but I appreciate your suggestion.

Because you didn't select the right settings.
You have to look for other junk that's been put in there. Things to look for are a checkbox for "Check for new version of Browser" and "autoupdate". There's a lot of other junk that the maker has put inthere to make it do what they want, not what you want.

I am sorry but I don't know where to look for the "Check for new version of Browser" and "Autoupdate"? Where do I find the radio buttons for these selections?
