Start up error : wstool

I get an error related to wstool.. Have already done msconfig. do not want to do a destructive recovery. Pc is running on Win XP.. Any takes.
Some time back I used to get an error related to Unmountable boot volume.. it was resolved..

please help.. i need the PC up and running.

You need to delete the files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Wintools directory while in safe mode.

Reboot your machine. After the diagnostics check, press and hold F8, Select to boot in Safe Mode
Once in safe mode, you should be able to navigate to the files and delete them without problem. Don't forget the hidden file. To show hidden files, Tools-> Folder Options -> View
And check the box next to "Show hidden files and folders"

Be sure to delete the hidden Wsup.exe or wtoolsa WILL recreate itself
