XP doesn't run on DOS as Win95/98 and ME did.

If you are looking to enter comands, you can enter a Command Prompt but clicking START>RUN and typing 'cmd' (without the quotes in teh run window.

If you are talking about running a DOS program, you would need to offer specifics on what you are trying to do.

But the best thing to do, if the above doesn't help, try reposting your Question in the Techncal Q&A section instead of the DIscussion forum. You will get FAR more replies.

I'm not sure why you want to do this, but it is not considered "MS-DOS" in NT operating systems. Think of it as a simple emulator.

If you are having issues running an older piece of software, right click the shortcut, go to properties... compatibility... check run this program in compatibility mode for.... and choose a 9x version.

If you want to boot only into MS-DOS, then you'll have to use partition magic and create a partition for DOS

Then you'll have to go into Windows XP and set the delay time for the bootup screen for a few seconds after you have formatted and installed DOS
