I've run across a couple of networks lately that use a batchfile (net use)that appears after posting when a workstation is booting.I've never seen this method of capturing net resources like this. when i first encontered it i was baffled, then someone told me it was an microsoft implementation of an old netware command.does anyone know about this utility and can you fill me in?

net use is the dos implementation of what's going on behind the scenes in windows. It allows you to connect to network shares. The net command has various variables that you can use with it. just type net at the command prompt and it will show you the variables that you can use with it. for more information on net use type net use /help.
