startup Icon

Hi.
I have win-2000 with IE 5.5. Well you know those pesky little icons on the task bar. I want to know how to rid myself of them…
I know the trick about right clicking the task bar and going into the properties. Then doing the remove bit, or even going into the advanced area, and doing stuff there. Maybe thats all there is to it. What do you think though.
