startup & shutdowns

By df52502 ·
I installed a new program for makeing web pages. The program delted files that my shutdown program uses. When I shutdown with my hotfix file, q269523 the cpu fixes and updates but stops after it shutsdown and just leaves me a cuser on the screen.how do i get my files back so that it fixes and updates and shutsdown and reboots like it use to. Thanks very much

One option would be to uninstall the program and then use your startup disk to reinstall your system files by inserting the flopy and booting your system, choose the option to install without cd-rom support, this will install the files you created when you installed the OS,update all fies or install service packs, then try loading the program again.
Hope this Helps

That really depends on which web page program you installed, if it used an .msi file, you should be able to simply uninstall it and everything "should" go back to normal.
If all else fails, Reinstall your fix that you're referring to. I don't understand Q269523 though, that says something about a security breech through users elevating their rights, not about shutdowns...
Do you have a list of the files that you need to reinstall???
I'm sure someone on here, if not myself has these files...
