I’m new to the Network Admin role. I have been holding done the help desk, desktop specialist and Network Admin roles and I now need to focus on setting up Windows 2000 servers in a Win 4.0 server environment. At this point, I’ve installed the network components in the servers and now I’d like to bring one of them live on the Network. We have around 100+ clients and 50 clients to dialin through Remote Access (modem pool). I’ve been told that I will need to make my Winnt 4.0 server a BDC andtrust in with the new Windows 2000 server. How ever I need someone to give me the step-by-step instructions on the sequence of bring this server live on our network. For example, do I make the Winnt 4.0 server a BDC first then connect the Windows 2000 server? Then do I setup a trust between them? I could really use some expert advice as quick as possible. Or even some direction or a good reference book.
