Still on printer sharing

By makumbamumba ·
I am unable to share my printer and folders. Users get the message MumbaPC is not accessible: Access denied. I allowed simple file sharing, enabled guest account. My staff have told me that they played around with settings in the Control Panel - Administrative tools. Where do I check?

You have duplicated the question you asked earlier.

Again, is this a Microsoft OS?

is MumbaPC the workstation name? If so, when trying to install the printer, it should be setup like
\\mumbapc\%printername%
The printername is the share name that was created when you shared the printer. If this does not work, try going by IP address, like this
\\192.167.1.5\%printername%

If they still cannot find it, it may be due to a connection problem of some sort, like personal firewall, etc.

If your pc's are in a workgroup, make sure the workgroup name is the same for all of them (don't assume they are). Uncheck simple file sharing on all of them and make sure all user accounts exist on each pc (same password also).
Then as stated in the previous answer, make sure the windows firewall (or any third party firewall) is not blocking access.

When you create the share, make sure you have the user accounts added for the share permission and ntfs permissions.

Disable the Guest account!!!!!

When connecting to a share (for folders and printers), use \\computername\sharename
