Stillimagemonitor causing crash.

Fatal exception 0E has occurred at … in Vxd IOS(04). According to microsoft the fix for this problem is to unload stillimagemonitor. This does seem to fix the problem but then the hp scanner attached to the system stops working. Any thoughts?
