Do you know how to stop certain programs by editing the registry so a user can not load or run them i.e. sol.exe

Why not just delete sol.exe (and the others)?

      Hi

Or you can set the security on the files to exclude certain accounts/groups

      Good luck

First of all, back up your registry and/or create a system restore point. In place of editing your registry, you can Start > Run > msconfig. Untick the boxes you do not want to run upon start up. Never untick Explorer or Systray, you need these for your machine to run. If there are any you are unsure of, use http://www.google.com to check them.

If you are comfortable with editing the registry, use regedit, and the key you want is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Run.

If you are not used to editing your registry, I would urge you to use msconfig instead.
