Stop My Documents from being displayed

By kcav ·
Whem I click the Windows Explorer icon My Documents are displayed. I would like to change this and have MY Computer displayed. When I click the My Computer icon My Documents are not displayed because I have the View Documents on desktop facility shut-off under Tools, Folder Options, View. Is there a way I can accomplish the same thing in Windows Explorer?

I don't believe that you can get rid of My Documents.

You can change the focus so that My Computer or a specific drive and folder is displayed.

You need to edit the short-cut for Windows Explorer.

For My Computer with no drives expanded the shortcut is:
Explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, c

For a specific folder:
Explorer.exe /n, /e, c:\folder

Clicked Windows Explorer, then Properties. On the Short Cut tab under Target I inserted Explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, c so that after the change the line read

C:\WINNT\Explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, c

When I pressed the Apply buuton a message said invalid command. I came out, went back and tried again. This time it worked. nOW when I click on the Windows Explorer icon the same display appears as when I click on My Computer icon, and I don't have to look at the details of My Documents.

Thank you for proving the modifiers. I did a copy/passte both times. I wonder why it didn't work the first time?
