Stop XP Automatic Search

By LibbyB ·
When I plug in a flash drive or double-click on my C drive I am automatically prompted with a "search" window instead of opening the specified drive.

I have already tried to specify the "autoplay" settings of the Flash drive to no avail.

If you have any ideas, please let me know. This is so annoying and I can't find any answers!
Thank You.
Libby

Sometimes

by IC-IT In reply to Command Suggestion

The context-menu handler will get knocked outby an application that adds to your right click menus.
It also wouldn't hurt to do a scan for malware.
If the previous answer helped you, would you be kind enough to mark it as helpful? This will assist others that may be searching for a solution.
Thanks.

You are replying to an OLD thread/post.

In addition, your instructions are just plain WRONG, or at the very minimum, INCOMPLETE.

Next time you create a new account just to post your 'advice', make sure that advice is CORRECT.
