Stored Typed URl

By Da_Showstopper ·
When I type a Url it gets stored. Like for example if I had earlier gone to www.howstuffworks.com before, each time I type "www.h", it guesses that I want to go to "www.howstuffworks.com" and displays it in blue. How do I turn this feauture off and how do I delete the already stored urls.

I assume that you are using Internet Explorer, the specicis are different for Netscape or Mozilla.

Open Internet Options from the tools, menu in Internet Explorer or Control Panel.

To disable auto-complete, click on the advanced tab, and scroll down to use inline autocomplete in the browsing section. Uncheck the box.

To clear your typed URLs, you need to click on the general tab, and clear history.

NOTE: this does not clear out all links, as some are stored in the registry.
I also recommend that you click on the Delete files button under Temporary Internet files.
