I manage computer labs and have a strange problem. Some background info first:
Network: 2003 server
Client systems: XP service pack 3
Switches and related gear: Foundry
Using Deep Freeze
Here is the problem: computers are imaged, put on the domain and then frozen. I have some for no apparent reason stop being able to login to the domain. They still appear to be on the domain as it is still an option from the login screen, but gives an domain not available error and will not let the user login in. Local machine login is fine and everything can be seen/mapped etc after local machine login.
I have to remove it from the domain and then re-add it and then everything is fine again.
This also happens whenever I replace a CMOS battery. However, this does not seem to happen without Deep Freeze installed on the system.
I have called and asked them about this but they say that it is nothing to do with their software, but I am seriously questioning this.
Any one else having these kind of problems or have an answer?
